Leuze: Optical sensors | Creating tomorrow’s innovations together

Capacitive sensors can detect solid, liquid or granular objects. These sensors can be used to detect highly structured and non-dimensionally stable objects, such as fill levels of liquids or bulk materials in direct contact with the medium or through a non-metallic container wall. They are also suitable for checking completeness. Capacitive sensors function reliably even in very dusty or dirty environments. Different designs and long ranges enable almost all areas of application in industrial automation. https://www.leuze.com/

Inductive sensors are the industry standard for non-contact detection of metallic objects. The Leuze portfolio includes a wide selection of standard and special sensors in a wide variety of designs, which have already proven themselves millions of times over for our customers. In particular, our extremely robust full stainless steel sensors, sensors with extended switching distances or even miniature sensors for extremely cramped installation conditions have already proven themselves many times in demanding applications. https://www.leuze.com/

Ultrasonic technology has a wide range of uses in many industries: An ultrasonic sensor emits a sound pulse and measures the time until the sound pulse reflected from an object returns to the sensor. The distance to the object can be precisely calculated using the principle of transit time measurement. The ultrasonic waves are reflected by the object, completely independent of the type of surface. That’s why sound-reflecting materials – shiny or reflective, transparent or very dark – do not pose a problem for reliable detection. Even products with difficult-to-detect geometries or fill levels of liquids, powders or granules can be checked contactlessly and very precisely using ultrasonic sensors. https://www.leuze.com/

The new cylindrical ultrasonic sensors in robust metal housings are particularly suitable for applications in the packaging or automotive industries. The compact HTU 208 ultrasonic sensors for object detection are characterized by a very narrow design (M8 threaded sleeve). They can also be installed in cramped production environments and detect fill levels with a narrow sound beam even through very small container openings. The HTU 212 buttons in the next larger design (M12) are used in confined environmental conditions when a greater range is required. The switching ultrasonic sensors HTU 218 (M18) are particularly easy to parameterize thanks to an IO-Link interface. https://www.leuze.com/

Rechner Capacitive Sensors

An overview of capacitive sensors helps to understand their working principle and characteristics. Capacitive sensors operate based on the principle of measuring changes in capacitance caused by the presence or absence of an object. They consist of two conductive plates separated by a dielectric material. When an object enters the sensing field, it alters the capacitance, triggering a change in the sensor’s output. Capacitive sensors can detect both conductive and non-conductive objects and are suitable for various materials. Their high resolution, fast response time, and non-contact nature make them ideal for applications requiring precision and reliability. https://www.rechner.com/Capacitive/

Introduction to capacitive sensors is essential for understanding their importance and applications. Capacitive sensors are a type of proximity sensor that detects the presence or absence of an object by measuring changes in capacitance. These sensors offer numerous advantages, such as high accuracy, reliability, and sensitivity. They are widely used in various industries, including industrial automation, automotive, consumer electronics, and medical devices. Rechner sensors, known for their extensive range of sensor models and customization options, provides tailored solutions for specific applications, offering enhanced performance and flexibility. https://www.rechner.com/Capacitive/

Bake delicious wafers safely

According to industry insiders, every second wafer manufactured industrially worldwide is baked using a Franz Haas wafer machine from Bühler. As a result, all customised plants must be highly flexible and, above all, meet all country-specific safety standards. That’s why the Austrian wafer machine specialist relies on the burner version of the configurable safe small controller PNOZmulti 2 to safely control and monitor its ovens. After all, the TÜV-certified burner block in the software tool PNOZmulti Configurator is flexible and can be used worldwide for a variety of customised machine configurations. http://www.pilz.com
