Small controllers PNOZmulti 2

Used all over the world – you too can rely on the 2nd generation small controllers PNOZmulti for your automation. As a worldwide safety standard for numerous automation environments and communication systems, the small controller will fit into your system too. High productivity for your plant and machine, user-friendly diagnostics and simple visualisation – with the small controllers PNOZmulti 2 you are making the right decision – guaranteed!. http://www.pilz.com

The modular small controllers PNOZmulti 2 are flexible and can be adapted to your requirements, plus they also fit into the smallest control cabinet. At a minimal width of just 45 mm, you have maximum functionality for monitoring a wide range of safety functions up to PL e EN ISO 13849-1 or SIL CL 3 EN IEC 62061. User-friendly software helps you to configure the hardware and software. You need just one software application from planning to maintenance.

In your application, do you need to monitor whether a movable guard is in a pre-defined position: for example, the packaging material in a packaging machine’s cardboard magazine? If there is sufficient packaging material in the cardboard feed magazine, then it is impossible for the operator to reach into the danger zone and injure themself while the machine is running. The material, such as cardboard for example, is used as a protective measure. Two optical sensors are used to detect whether there is sufficient material in the magazine. If the number of cardboard blanks falls below the permitted amount, the sensors signal this status to the small controller PNOZmulti 2. The outputs on the PNOZmulti 2 shut down the machine until sufficient cardboard is once again in place. If you are looking for a ready-to-use solution, you can use the modular safety relay myPNOZ as an alternative to the PNOZmulti 2. http://www.pilz.com

myPNOZ – the new, modular safety relay

The new modular safety relay myPNOZ is produced individually according to your requirements in batch size 1. An easy-to-use device that’s flexible in application and boasts clever features, it ensures reliable monitoring of your safety functions. The German Innovation Award honours products and solutions that distinguish themselves primarily by their user centricity and added value compared to earlier solutions, across all industrial sectors. After all: innovations that shape the future and improve life can be found in all sectors. Sometimes you see it at first glance – but quite often you don’t. That’s what the German Innovation Award wants to change. It makes magnificent achievements visible to a wide audience. The jury is composed of independent, interdisciplinary experts from industry, science, institutions and finance. http://www.pilz.com

With the user-friendly myPNOZ Creator, you simply create your individual myPNOZ. You choose the required safety functions, and myPNOZ Creator puts the ideal hardware together. You can check your configuration with the simulation function. If everything fits, your myPNOZ is ordered with just a few quick clicks. Each myPNOZ is tailor-made and pre-assembled by us in batch size 1 according to your individual configuration. We also set the parameters to suit your specifications, e.g. regarding the start type or time delay. Your modular relay will be sent to you following a system test. http://www.pilz.com

Tailor-made safety and clever product features are convincing features of the modular safety relay. It consists of a head module and a maximum of eight expansion modules and ensures safe monitoring of 2 to 16 input functions such as emergency stop, safety gates, safety light curtains, two-hand IIIA/C controls and enabling switches.

Safety relay PNOZ s50 for safe brake control

On the safety relay PNOZ s50, temporary overexcitation is followed by voltage reduction, for which parameters can be set. The resulting short ventilation times help to make your application more energy-efficient. On the one hand, safe brake control enables rapid switching in emergency situations. On the other hand, it ensures slow, low-wearing switching in normal operation, thereby reducing maintenance requirements. Applications with safety brakes and holding brakes require reliable brake monitoring. This eliminates all potential hazards for the user – even when the drive is in a de-energised state. With the stand-alone safety relay PNOZ s50, Pilz is offering an economical solution for controlling two safety brakes up to category PL e of EN ISO 13849-1. http://www.pilz.com

Line monitoring devices

The safe line monitoring device PLIDdys provides safe power-up on two-wire connections, providing maximum safety on long cable routes. With PLIDdys, unintended power-up or plant start-up can be excluded in the event of an error. This is particularly beneficial on interlinked plants or on plant sections distributed over a wide area, which may not always be clearly visible. http://www.pilz.com

Leuze: Optical sensors | Creating tomorrow’s innovations together

Capacitive sensors can detect solid, liquid or granular objects. These sensors can be used to detect highly structured and non-dimensionally stable objects, such as fill levels of liquids or bulk materials in direct contact with the medium or through a non-metallic container wall. They are also suitable for checking completeness. Capacitive sensors function reliably even in very dusty or dirty environments. Different designs and long ranges enable almost all areas of application in industrial automation. https://www.leuze.com/

Inductive sensors are the industry standard for non-contact detection of metallic objects. The Leuze portfolio includes a wide selection of standard and special sensors in a wide variety of designs, which have already proven themselves millions of times over for our customers. In particular, our extremely robust full stainless steel sensors, sensors with extended switching distances or even miniature sensors for extremely cramped installation conditions have already proven themselves many times in demanding applications. https://www.leuze.com/

Ultrasonic technology has a wide range of uses in many industries: An ultrasonic sensor emits a sound pulse and measures the time until the sound pulse reflected from an object returns to the sensor. The distance to the object can be precisely calculated using the principle of transit time measurement. The ultrasonic waves are reflected by the object, completely independent of the type of surface. That’s why sound-reflecting materials – shiny or reflective, transparent or very dark – do not pose a problem for reliable detection. Even products with difficult-to-detect geometries or fill levels of liquids, powders or granules can be checked contactlessly and very precisely using ultrasonic sensors. https://www.leuze.com/

The new cylindrical ultrasonic sensors in robust metal housings are particularly suitable for applications in the packaging or automotive industries. The compact HTU 208 ultrasonic sensors for object detection are characterized by a very narrow design (M8 threaded sleeve). They can also be installed in cramped production environments and detect fill levels with a narrow sound beam even through very small container openings. The HTU 212 buttons in the next larger design (M12) are used in confined environmental conditions when a greater range is required. The switching ultrasonic sensors HTU 218 (M18) are particularly easy to parameterize thanks to an IO-Link interface. https://www.leuze.com/

Monitoring relays

These monitoring relays are multifunctional and can be applied universally, covering a wide range of applications. You can use PMD monitoring relays to meet the requirements of IEC 60204-1 for the safety of electrical equipment on your machines. http://www.pilz.com

With monitoring relays, the priority is the protection of persons and the machinery against insulation faults, residual voltages, overvoltage, overcurrent, overload, temperature overload as well as monitoring standstill and true power. Significantly reduce hazardous situations for man and machine, while at the same time increasing the service life of your plant. Save costs and guarantee an efficient production cycle. All this by using monitoring relays!
